Who We Are
Working with kids has always been a passion of ours. We strive to provide learning plans customized for each student and to teach in an enriched environment conducive to bringing about meaningful growth and change.
At Little Lemons, all of our consultants are Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA) with over 15 years of experience working with individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dyslexia, Global Developmental Delay, and other developmental and behavioural disorders. Our therapists are Registered Behaviour Technicians (RBT). They are responsible for direct implementation of behaviour therapy services under the ongoing supervision of our consultants.

Applied Behaviour Analysis
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is the science of changing socially significant behaviour. Intensive, comprehensive treatment is recommended for early learners presenting with broad skill deficits and intensive problem behaviour. Brief, focused treatment is appropriate for advanced learners presenting with a few areas of skill deficit, or moderate problem behaviour.
ABA therapy incorporates behavioural techniques such as reinforcement and prompting to increase appropriate behaviour, decrease inappropriate behaviour, and teach functional replacement behaviours.
Our Approach
Discrete Trial Training (DTT) is a highly structured form of ABA therapy and is beneficial for students who require more repetition to build basic learning skills. The sequenced form of instruction has three steps: 1. Instruction, 2. Response, 3. Feedback.
Natural Environment Teaching (NET) is a natural form of utilizing ABA, with generalization built into this strategy. Training does not just occur at a table in a therapy room, but in a variety of environments. Everyday objects are used as teaching materials, and rewards for appropriate responses are naturally occurring. The child’s motivation and interests are main factors in NET, most children do not realize they are “working”. Teaching targets are incorporated into activities, games, and routines, making each interaction a teachable moment.
Individual Services
One on One Therapy
Our One-on-One Therapy training can include behaviour, cognitive, language, communication, social, play, self-help, and functional skills. After direct observation and standardized assessments, our behavioural consultants will create tailored programming with functional learning objectives based on individual learning needs of each student. A team of behavioural therapists are responsible for therapy sessions in centre or at home. Supervision sessions are regularly scheduled to ensure treatment quality and progress. A behavioural consultant will provide ongoing case updates during monthly meetings.
School Readiness Training
Having great learning skills is essential to being successful and independent in school. Our School Readiness Training program will equip students with classroom skills such as self-management and organization, language and communication, as well as social learning and problem solving. This program is designed for kindergarteners and lower primary school students who are about to enter mainstream schools or currently attending and in need of behavioural support. Each student will have an individualized plan catered to his or her learning needs applicable to the mainstream classroom. Lessons will be conducted in English, supplemented with Cantonese and Mandarin.
Social Skills Groups
We believe social skills are an important part of any student’s learning repertoire. Our Social Skills Groups will help children acquire skills necessary for establishing and maintaining relationships with family and friends. We aim to increase social motivation and provide opportunities to practice skills such as social interaction, communication, cooperation, and playing in a group setting. Each child will participate in a group based on age and skill level.
School Shadowing
School Shadowing benefits students enrolled in mainstream schools and facing behavioural challenges in the classroom. Our shadow therapists can help facilitate following school routines, attention and engagement to teacher, and social interactions with other students. We provide effective strategies to teach children to become active and independent learners in school. We will also collaborate with school staff to ensure generalization and transfer of skills.
Life Skills Workshops
Life Skills Workshops aim to foster and develop our students’ functional living skills. Taught by specialized teachers with behavioural therapists providing support, our students will learn a variety of skills in areas such as personal health, technology, community, and more. Our workshops will teach children skills that are necessary for independence, it is also a great way for them to practice social skills and broaden their interests.
Language Arts Club
Language sets the foundation for communication, and is developed through practical usage. Our Language Arts Club is led by a behavioural consultant and certified English teacher, taking on a task-based learning approach to develop language through interactive and engaging projects. Students will learn basic literacy skills, expressive communication, grammar and vocabulary, as well as listening and reading comprehension.
Training
Family Training
Family training is crucial to ensure transfer and maintenance of learned skills to the home environment. Parent and caregiver training can be available at home or in centre to support family members with positive behavioural strategies to handle challenging domestic issues such as compliance, communication, mealtime issues, self-help, and sleep hygiene.
Professional Workshops
We provide professional training workshops for schools and organizations looking to further develop their knowledge in ABA and students with special educational needs. Workshops can be in the form of didactic lectures as well as hands on practical training. Training materials are tailor-made and can cover a range of topics such as:
- Identification and understanding of SEN
- Evidence-based treatment options
- Managing behaviours in the classroom
- Collaborating with professionals
Certification
Ongoing supervision is an important part of becoming a competent Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA), or a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT).
Our behavioural consultants provide group and individual supervision to those seeking certification, training programs that fulfil BACB Task List requirements, and Competency Assessment exams.
